Objectives

The Department consists of a four-year undergraduate program and a graduate institute. The Department’s curriculum highlights information technology personnel and management talents. It values theory and practice along with conformity to current industrial demands and development trends, promoting the application and innovation of information technology in commerce, business, and healthcare. The Department teaches their students to determine, analyze, and resolve problems by utilizing various theories, technologies, and practices in the relevant fields. The goal is to fulfill preventive health management through applications of information technology.

Characteristics

This department is one of the few educational institutions in Taiwan that focuses on important fields such as medical informatics, managerial decision, and information technology. Currently we have six professors, three associate professors, one lecturer, and several experienced professional instructors, all of which are specialized in the three major fields mentioned above. Our curriculum emphasizes the development and management of health care institutions and the application of information technology. Through the application of information technology, the quality of health care institutions can be improved and thus create an information management system featuring extensive integration of multidisciplinary knowledge. The training and research of the department focus on information technology application, health care institution management and medical information management. We truly believe that with the interdisciplinary knowledge integration and the application of information technology, we can create an e-management environment within health care institution management.
